We are delighted to invite ALL Year 8 parents and students to our annual Guided Pathway Information Evening taking place tonight, Tuesday 15 January starting promptly at 6pm, and expected to run until 7pm. The evening starts our support for students as they begin looking ahead to Year 9, and onto GCSE and other courses, following successful Graduation in the Summer of 2019. It is hoped that every student is represented by a parent at this critical occasion.
The event is being led by Mr Thynne, Assistant Principal (Deep Experience), with colleagues from all subject areas on hand, alongside colleagues from local Post-16 providers and our Careers Advisor from CareersInc, Mr Veale.
Mr Thynne will present on the process, and explain our curriculum which students in Year 8 will start in Year 9, after they have Graduated and attended our Graduation Weekend Outwood Bound Residential, and thus starting their GCSE and BTEC qualifications over two or three years. The evening is supported by Heads of Department who are available with stands to explain their subjects. Local Post-16 colleges and apprenticeship providers were also on hand to discuss what is available when students leave in Year 11.
A copy of the PowerPoint from the evening, and the Year 8 Guided Pathway Booklet will be available on this news item after tonight.
