Simon Robinson

Associate Assistant Principal - Deep Learning.
I started my career at Trinity in Middlesbrough immediately after finishing my degree in Mathematics. In the early days of my career, I realised I had a passion to develop my pupils and instill values to allow them to become successful in their next steps. During my time at Trinity, I taught Maths and I worked on an extended leadership team, working on developing numeracy within form time. I then moved to Liverpool where I taught Maths including GCSE and A-level. I was also the lead teacher on an outreach programme for adults wanting to gain their GCSE in Mathematics. My career progressed when I relocated to the fringes of London where I was the Head of Mathematics and an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility of raising attainment across Maths and Science. In this role, I got the opportunity to build a faculty which involved mentoring a large proportion through their teacher training. The faculty was one of the top performers in the school and had a very low staff turn over.
I always wanted to move back to my home area, and after speaking with the principal, I knew Outwood Academy Redcar would be a great fit for me. I am excited to work back in the town where I spent large parts of my childhood. I am currently working across the Maths and Science departments and hope to help raise the standards in those faculties to provide the best education possible for the pupils of Redcar.
