Victoria Lee

Associate Assistant Principal - Deep Support. After graduating from Newcastle University with a BA Hons degree in Geography I took my first steps into teaching via the Teach First graduate scheme in collaboration with Northumbria University. Teach First is a charity that aims to build a society that provides a fair education for all. Throughout my career I will remain an advocate of this as I believe inequalities in education must be challenged so that all children are getting the highest quality education that they deserve so that every child’s true potential can be unlocked.
In 2019, I secured a place as a teacher of Geography at Outwood Academy Redcar. This was very exciting for me as I joined the academy with a whole new Humanities department. We took the opportunity to change the ethos of Humanities in Outwood Redcar, ensuring that all pupils had everything needed to succeed in the subjects and by making learning an enjoyable experience for all. I then spread this positivity further by offering enrichment events and getting to know our pupils and their needs. Throughout this year I was very fortunate to continue to develop my own practice and see the clear positive impact that changes to the wider academy has had on our pupils.
My first year at Outwood Redcar increased my passion for teaching and learning as I have witnessed first hand the importance of high quality education and strong connections between staff and students. I believe strongly that Outwood Redcar will continue to go from strength to strength as the belief of students’ first is deeply embedded. This year, I have joined the senior leadership team as an Associate Assistant Principal to have a broader impact outside of my subject specialism. I look forward to implementing projects on a whole school basis that ensures all pupils have an enjoyable experience in school whilst achieving their very best as staff have their best interests at the forefront of everything they do.
