We are very much still here for our young people and have greatly missed working with our students in person. We are really looking forward to talking with those Y10 that we are able to see face-to-face, and listening as they share their experiences, concerns, and issues. We will adapt our future mentoring and support each week, based on our conversations with students, identifying the additional help they need, above what has already been planned, as we move forwards in these challenging times.
We are determined to help students who want to re-establishing healthy routines, where this has proven difficult for them. We want to support our young people with their mental wellbeing. We know that globally many, many people have been affected deeply by the pandemic, for many reasons including bereavement.
We want to celebrate learning that has continued during lockdown, and support those who have found it hard to motivate themselves to log onto Google Classroom each day, and complete the work set, and act on the feedback from teachers. This is turn will help us improve online learning for ALL students, not just Y10.
This page has been written as a single source of information regarding the phased, partial re-opening to small groups of Year 10 students in the beginning beginning Monday 15 June. It is designed to reassure parents and students about the social distancing safety measures that are now in place in the academy, ready to welcome Y10 groups of students back for face-to-face academic mentoring, and what that will look like too.
